Lagos State University is getting a tech upgrade! They’re replacing the old ID cards with new, fancy ones called Smart ID cards. These cards won’t just show who you are, they’ll also have superpowers.
One superpower is attendance marking. No more paper lists! Students will just tap their card on a special device, and boom, they’re marked present. This will be especially helpful for big classes where taking attendance usually takes forever.
But that’s not all! The Smart ID card can also act like a bank card, powered by Interswitch. So, you can use it to withdraw money from ATMs without carrying an extra card. Pretty cool, right?
Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the university’s boss, unveiled the card and even showed everyone how it works. He tapped his card on the device, and everyone saw his name and picture pop up. The other university bosses loved it, and they’re excited to get their own cards soon.
The first batch of Smart ID cards will go to the university leaders, new students, and some other important people. But everyone else will get theirs soon, starting in mid-January. To get your card ready, just give the university your National Identity Number (NIN). That way, they can activate your superpower and you can join the tech revolution!
So, there you have it – a smarter, sleeker way to be part of Lagos State University. Get ready to tap your way through life!
