However, the Cybertruck often proves its skeptics wrong, especially when put to the test in rugged conditions. A recent video posted by a Cybertruck owner from Florida highlights this perfectly.
In the video, the Cybertruck easily navigates a deep, challenging mud puddle that left other vehicles, designed for off-road use, struggling. The footage, shared by Andrew Hodgdon in the Tesla Cybertruck Facebook Group, shows just how capable the vehicle is in tough environments.
In the clip, the mud puddle appears to be quite deep, and it took the Cybertruck three attempts before it completely made it through. Impressively, on the first two tries, the vehicle reversed out of the mud with ease, showcasing its powerful performance. What makes this even more notable is that other well-known off-road vehicles had difficulty, with some getting stuck.

Hodgdon explained that the only other vehicle to conquer the puddle that day was a lifted Jeep Wrangler with oversized tires.
The Cybertruck, on the other hand, was equipped with standard 285/65 mud terrain tires and had been set to Overland Mode’s All Purpose, Very High setting, along with Wade Mode, to help navigate the challenging terrain. These features likely played a significant role in its success.
Despite the impressive off-road display, the video sparked criticism from Tesla skeptics on social media. Some mocked the driver, predicting that the vehicle would break down soon, while others downplayed the difficulty of the mud puddle, suggesting even a regular gas-powered sedan could have handled it.
In response to the criticism, Hodgdon shared additional videos from his off-road adventure, showing that the Cybertruck wasn’t just able to handle the mud but was also capable of pulling out a modded Toyota pickup that had gotten stuck. In that video, the Cybertruck’s strength was clear, as it easily towed the other vehicle out of the mud without any trouble.
